Establishing speaker's age and sex
Rendek, Tomáš ; Pfeifer, Václav (referee) ; Atassi, Hicham (advisor)
This work deals with speaker´s age and gender recognition. At the beginning it introduces the practical usage of this application and discusses the solutions available. The theoretical part of the thesis specifies the feature extraction and reduction methods and speech databases used in the experiments. The practical part describes the recognizer implemented in the Emotional tool and in two chapters describes the individual experiments. Regarding speaker´s gender estimation; we focused on the impact of the emotional state and speaker's age on the classification process. The two remain experiments were dedicated for general gender estimation performed by using two different classifiers – GMM and k-NN. These two classifiers were used in age estimation as well. In this case, four Group of age was formed and two different feature sets namely: segmental and suprasegmental were exploited four groups

Hlavinková, Vítězslava ; Matějka, Libor (referee) ; Abraham, Karel (referee) ; Bradáč, Albert (advisor)
The dissertation focuses on the problems associated with determining the amount of wear (finding the remaining technical values) that are being addressed. It deals with an overview of the different methods used. The basic premise of the thesis is a comprehensive overview of the calculation procedure and the methods used. This area of wear does not except the price regulation precisely defined procedure, nor are they addressed the circumstances in which that would be the method to be used. Various possible methods or inaccuracies may result in questioning the expert opinions as at trial. In conclusion of this dissertation is shown how the calculation procedure should wear for what purpose should be used and it is also proposed several alternatives.
Neural networks in speaker classification
Svoboda, Libor ; Atassi, Hicham (referee) ; Míča, Ivan (advisor)
The content of this work is focused on the neural network per speaker recognition. The work deals with problems of processing speech signal and there are introduction some types of neural network. The part of work was made database of records from speakers with have various sex and ages. The train and test group was made from the database. For classifier were suggested afterwards. One of them was nominated on base Gaussian mixture model and three of them were nominated on neural. This system was tested and analyzed on the basis of age, gender and both criterions each other at the end. Attention is focused on choice suitable feature in each mission of classification at the same time. At the end of work are introduced results of analysis for individual groups and features. The most suitable features are diagnosed from given mission of classification and the most prosperous classifier.
Comparison of analysis of speech in dependence on age and gender
Báňa, Josef ; Smékal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Atassi, Hicham (advisor)
This thesis deals with analysis of speech signal in dependence on the gender and the age of the speaker. We tried to investigate through the features to find the best set for the automatic classification of speakers. It also contains a brief discussion about the speech signal and its characteristics. We used a program called Praat for the speech analysis purpose. This program is also described in this work. We mainly focused on the suprasegmental features of speech. Our first step was to make our own speech corpus which should contain speech records from speakers with various age and gender. We made the analysis using Praat and reported it within this thesis. For the automatic classification purpose, twelve features were selected basing on there quality criteria and used with a neural network to classify the speakers to classes with different age and gender. As it was mentioned, a neural network was used as a classifier. We used “Neural Network Toolbox” in the Matlab program to create and train our networks.
Influence of clinical nutrition in elderly patients
Jančarová, Kateřina ; Matejovičová,, Milena (referee) ; Němcová, Andrea (advisor)
This master’s thesis deal with the influence of supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids on cognitive functions and on the blood marker of clients in the retirement home. The main target of this thesis is demonstrate the improvement of cognitive functions and lipid and glycemic profile after supplementation with the dietary supplement. Suplementation was serve to the clients for the period of 3 months 3 times a day in the amount of 5 ml per dose. In the teoretical part of the thesis was explained the process of aging and the problematics of omega-3 fatty acids. The practical part evaluates the three-month supplementation with a dietary supplement and its mainly focus to cognitive tests MMSE and blood test results. The thesis is deal with effect of the product on the blood marker, mainly the lipid profile and glycemic profile were determined. Laboratory analysis was used to determine lipid numbers. Fatty acids analysis was performed by gas chromatography and vitamins analysis was performed by liquid chromatography. Based on recent findings, it was assumed that supplementation of omega-3 fatty acids can improve the cognitive functions in older adults as well as their lipid and glycemic profile. The improvements have been confirmed in cognitive functions but not in lipid profile. This facts may have been influenced by several factors, such as inappropriate composition of the menu, the consumption of foods with a high content of saturated fatty acids outside the menu, the administration of medication or overall short supplementation time period.
Biometrie a kondice prasete divokého (Sus scrofa) s ohledem na vegetační stupňovitost
Procházková, Pavla
The content of this thesis is the evaluation of biometric data of wild boar (Sus scrofa L.) collected in 2014–2019 at sites throughout the Czech Republic. The data evaluation sought to relate the observed body parameters to forest vegetation stages. Emphasis was placed on the parameter of fat thickness as an indicator of body condition, and body parameters of weight after emergence, body length and chest height were also worked with. Differences in body parameters based on age, sex and forest vegetation stages were sought and statistical significance of these factors was tested. A weak correlation was found between some body parameters in the piglet category. Furthermore, fat thickness was found to be related to the sex of individuals older than 12 months. Fat thickness increased with age in females at all age classes while males reached their total fat height at the end of the first year of life. There was a strong correlation of body length parameter with weight and chest height of individuals.
Analysis of ponies bred for sports performance based on results in international dressage competitions
Havlíčková, Kristina
This thesis aimed to evaluate the performance of sports ponies at the international dressage level based on the following factors: sports season, age, sex and breed. The basis of the database was the dressage pony ranking of the International Equestrian Federation from 2014 to 2020. Two analyses were performed, one for the whole population and the second for the top 10% of ponies of each season. Statistically significant impact was found in the sports season (p ≤ 0.05) and high statistical significance in age and breed (p ≤ 0.01). Sex was the only factor with no statistical significance (p > 0.05). Ponies achieved the best average results in the year 2019 (983.72 points). On average, the best age categories were 9-12 (968.91 points) and 13-16 (968.90 points). Stallions were the best-performing sex (975.28 points). Ponies of Dutch Riding Horse and Pony Studbook (1 040.70 points) and Danish Sports Pony (1 039.50 points) achieved the best point results. Only the sports season and breed in the top 10% of ponies showed statistical significance (p ≤ 0.05). Ponies earned the highest number of points on average in the year 2020 (1 873.80 points). The best performance was given by ponies aged 17 and higher (1 899.00 points), although this category contained only two specimens. Stallions earned the highest number of performance points (1 842.70 points), and the best breed was the German Riding Pony (1 828.20 points).
Analýza současné situace a výkonnosti koní v soutěžích vytrvalosti v České republice a ve světě
Zelenková, Veronika
The aim of this study was to evaluate the current situation and the development of horses in endurance competitions in the Czech Republic and in the world using factors of age, sex, year of the competition and breed. The thesis was based on the databases of endurance rankings for years 2020, 2021 and 2022 published by the ČJF and FEI, which we subsequently processed statistically. A highly conclusive influence was discovered for the factors of year of the competition and age of the horses, breed factor was conclusive and sex factor was not conclusive. The best results were achieved by horses aged 15-17 years (71,68 points), the most successful are geldings (65,23 points) and the best performance is delivered by Arabian horse (73,51 %), which was also confirmed by subsequent testing using the Scheffe test. Horse performance increased slightly over the course of three years. Similar methodology was used to perform an analysis of the database of the endurance rankings by the ČJF. A highly conclusive influence was discovered only for the factor of year of the competition and factor of age was discovered conclusive, which can be attributed to the small population of endurance horses in the Czech Republic. The analysis of the endurance rankings by ČJF shows, that the best results are achieved by horses aged 9-11 years (158,57 points), the most successful are geldings (145,29 points) and the best performance is delivered by Arabian horse (171,98 points). Horse performance in Czech Republic increased conclusively over the course of three years.
Resilience and perceived life purpose
Švarcová, Tereza ; Kebza, Vladimír (advisor) ; Štětovská, Iva (referee)
Resilience and perceived life purpose are phenomena which have been getting more and more attention in foreign literature recently. The results of resilience and life purpose research has its own place in psychotherapy, psychological consultancy and preventive care. The purpose of the theoretical part of diploma thesis was first to present the concepts of resilience and perceived life purpose as separate areas, and then to connect them into an interacting unit. The theoretical part of the thesis refers to the age - related specifics of resilience in connection to developmental tasks of each stage. The aim of the empirical part of diploma thesis was to prove the relationship between resilience and perceived life purpose using a research sample (N = 231), which was being measured by three questionnaire methods - Connor - Davidson Resilience Scale (CD - RISC), Life Engagement Test (LET) a LOGO - test. Another step in the empirical part was to find out if there are differences in grades of resilience and perceived life purpose between two groups (age 18 - 30 and 31 - 65). The results of the empirical part have proven a significant relationship between both variables. The LOGO - test shows considerable differences between the groups in the grades of perceived existential frustration. The results of the...
The effect of Gender on Adolescent's theory of mind
Šalapková, Jana ; Kebza, Vladimír (advisor) ; Stehlík, Luděk (referee)
The main aim of this study is to investigate the effect of gender in adolescent Theory of Mind. The term Theory of Mind (TOM) was introduced more than 30 years ago. Most of the TOM studies investigated Theory of Mind among animals, infants, children and clinical patients. Based on literature review, we know that developmental changes do not stop in childhood but continue through adolescence and into adulthood. Evidently there is a lack of studies on Theory of Mind in adolescents, despite the fact that adolescence is a critical stage for social, emotional and relationship skills. One of the variables important for our research is the effect of gender and gender identity. Gender differences are considered one of the least examined aspects of TOM, and further studies are not specifically aimed to gender-related differences. The tests we employed were Reading Mind in the eyes test (revised version, RMET-R) and Bem Sex-Role Inventory (BSRI). Statistical analysis revealed that older adolescents (17- year old) scored significantly higher than younger (16-year old) on the RMET-R test. There were no significant differences between females and males on the RMET-R test performance results. We found no significant effect of gender identity, feminine traits and familiarity with TOM stimuli in relation to RMET-R...
